Welcome to this week’s Glass Full of Bubbles! This is when we recap all the stuff that happened during the week and then invite you to add a link to your recent post or something you found intriguing or otherwise We encourage you to go wild and inspire others – share the love, the irony, the chuckle, the good read, the lesson, the recipe… what ever pops your cork and lets the bubbles run free!
So what’s been happening with us? Well…
Fluffy had a conversation this week at work about periods. It freaked a few people out. But let us explain…. it didn’t start out about periods. It started out about a new shopping precinct opening in Canberra close to her work. One of her male colleagues couldn’t understand how it would succeed – what could people possibly need during the day – unexpectedly. Fluffy suggested tampons and stockings. Well, talk about dead silence. But Fluffy being Fluffy, persisted…. yes people, women have periods and need tampons… sometimes unexpectedly. One of her male colleagues asked if they could stop talking about tampons (yep, this word, not ‘periods, made him uncomfortable)… Her response? “When the government stops taxing me for being a woman we can stop talking about periods.”
So not surprisingly both Junket and Fluffy liked this post about improving hygiene for women in third world countries.
Junket also liked this post on the interval obsession in breast feeding.
And Fluffy was also slightly in love with the Goodmen Project – seriously too many posts to nominate one, so just pop on over and check it out.
Meanwhile, we kicked off a new page – Champagne Recipes. Junket is sharing her secrets to meals that work for the whole family – well at least 70%… but hey! There are covert vegetables and what’s not to love about that!
Junket also wrote a post about Skanky Barbie who appeared in her life again a few weeks back and reminded her that sometimes you just need to Calm The F!*k Down and go with the flow in parenting.
And Fluffy wrote about the need for equality in female representation on the screen. It’s time for strong women who love large and with confidence!
Oh, and in case you are hankering for a champagne cocktail, we revisited this favourite.
So what have you been reading, loving, crying over, writing, bringing into the world? The Link Up is open until Monday, so pop the cork and let the bubbles flow!
