Comment on Walking with keys… by jess.
What a freakin fabulous post. As you were describing your walk home and entry check it was like you were describing me. I often think how crazy and sad it is that I consider so many situations based on the potential to be attacked, even though I have no previous experience of this. Because I know that one day it could be me…and what if I just check that door lock one more time? Like having my keys out would actually do anything to stop someone who wanted to hurt me.
But you are right that the keys and the lock and the alarm are not actually the solution, changing society and the conversations we have are the solution. But unfortunately they take a damn lot longer than it takes to lock a door.

Finding the Calm
I often try to think about why some tasks are so arduous and bring up the procrastinator in me. A bit of purposeful ‘me’ time can be a great way to chill before tackling the less enjoyable things.

I love spending time alone, there is something incredibly freeing and lovely about not having to consider someone else’s needs/preferences/time. Great links!
